Reverting an S6?
Long story made short... I have a NFR support auth with my S6 that expires in a few weeks. It’s from a past auth situation. I’m current in the process of renewing my support contract and it’s taking time to process with Avid. The one I had has subsequently expired while I’m waiting for my dealer to process my order with Avid. I was advised that the NFR shell in my account would hold me over through this process but it’s not working out that way.
My Avid account populated with the S6 19.5 update and I assumed that meant I would be able to use it with the active auth. I decided to take time this weekend to make an alternate DAW OS to see if there was any chance a separate MTRX issue might improve with 2019.5. Upon moving forward with the S6 side of the update I’ve discovered that I can’t get a bin file to complete it. I’ve reverted my DAW but now I cant go backwards with my S6! I have a case open with Avid and they’ve ask for patience while they look into this but Monday is right around the corner and I have some intense broadcast deadlines looming. Has anyone successfully performed an S6 Restore 1.0 install and then returned to a version with their original bin file? I’m concerned that the bin file may be a one time auth file and this won’t help my situation. I’m trying to be proactive and investigate options while I wait to hear back from Avid. Being the weekend nothing’s happening quickly and I can’t loose all day tomorrow sorting this out. Any user insights would be helpful. I’m really kicking myself for messing with this. I always maintain a back door with DAW upgrades but it never occurred to me that there might not be one with the S6. I need a fader to perform volume rides... Thanks!

Re: Reverting an S6?
Greetings,
Sorry to hear about your troubles. My immediate recommendation would be to login as Admin on the Master Module (password), uninstall S6 Master Module, and reinstall back to the previous version which I presume you were on S6 18.3.0.244. Your auth should still be valid for the version you were on. Feel free to personal message me for more details and questions. best, Jeff |

Re: Reverting an S6?
Thanks for the reply Jeff. When I try to reinstall 18.3 I get a message saying a newer version is present and I can not proceed. That’s why I mentioned the restore 1.0... is that was you mean by uninstall?

Re: Reverting an S6?
Correct. You can not install over the top of 19.5 which you have currently. Do the following:
Go to About and logout. Login as Administrator password = password. Once you get to the windows desktop, Swipe from the right edge of the master module touchscreen (swipe right to left) to bring up the Toolbar and touch Settings> Programs and Features. Select S6 Master Module in the list and touch Uninstall. It will finish and make you reboot. Do so. Log back into Admin and reinstall 18.3.0.244. Jeff |

Re: Reverting an S6?
Thank you so much Jeff! FYI, when swiping right to left the menu that comes up didn't offer a programs and features selection. It provided a search option that I was able to find the master module app with. I right clicked on the master module application and was able to uninstall it that way. After that all went smoothly. Im back rolling... Thank you!

Re: Reverting an S6?
Sounds like you have a newer MTM. Log into the Admin user. The go to the Windows menu in the bottom left corner and touch the Gear. Then touch System, then Apps and Features, Avid S4/S6 Master Module > Uninstall.
