Welcome to MTRX Family Devices!

It is highly recommended to be running the latest version of DADman -> v5.8.0.8 with your MTRX Family device, which you can access via your Avid Account or from the Download Center.

Best Practices and General Recommendations
Don't use Migration Assistant when building a new macOS workstation.
If you don't explicitly need the HD Core Audio driver, disable Avid Audio Server.
Make sure to set the Unit Name and Unit ID - especially with multiple MTRX Devices for differentiation under DADman > Settings > Device List.
If TB3 option in MTRX II or MTRX Studio the device will connect via that bus. If IP, use either manual / static IP addressing or DHCP via a router. Self-Assigned not recommended.
Make sure you know where your patch (.dms) and monitor (.dmprof) data files are being stored. Recommend to build a subfolder under /Users/yourusername/Documents/ for your files.
DVS (Dante Virtual Soundcard) is convenient for system audio, but often problematic from a compatibility perspective. Consider at least an Audinate AVIO USB adapter as an alternative.
Recommend turning Auto Save for .dms and .dmprof OFF in DADman, then explicitly making changes to the files. When performing a firmware update, once finished - click reboot then quit DADman and wait till you see / hear the device fully reboot. Open DADman now with Auto-Load preferences set to restore your last good .dms and .dmprof file.

Here's an example MTRX II Monitor Profile for working in 7.1.4 for both the Internal and External Dolby Atmos Renderer, plus additional accommodations for Stereo Ref, Dolby BIN, 2.0, and spatial audio returns to the headphone cues. This profile includes example tunings and bass management for the 7.1.4 monitor set.

MTRX I Firmware v 2.4.2.2 is now available and is highly recommended. Use DADman 5.7 to update your device with the new firmware package which you can access via your Avid Account or from the Download Center.


** A timing and format error in the DigiLink interface has been corrected. The change is only relevant for
MTRX. In the previous firmware version 2.4.1.2 a bug on the DigiLink interface occurred.
The bug is not in the earlier versions. This is corrected in the new version. **
