I'm finally picking up mine tomorrow. I have a question about it. Is the second port a through port? I'm assuming only 1 thunderbolt cable needs to be connected to the computer. If that is correct is there a preferred method of connecting peripherals? For instance, I have a thunderbolt chassis for my HDX cards. Can I hook them up to the second port of the MTRX card?

I'd love to see some possible connection videos for the card. Thanks.

Also, I have a MTRX2 and I'm trying to get full channels to the renderer. Will one cable carry all those channels?

Can’t wait to hear your method. Where are you getting yours from? I’ve only been looking here for it.

Yes, one Thunderbolt cable can carry 256 channels in each direction.

The second TB3 port is for daisy-chaining. Be aware that it only works as long as the unit is powered on, which is why I generally recommend to avoid daisy-chaining.

You can not connect a second computer to the second TB3 port, and you can not pass audio or other data directly between the TB3 devices in a daisy-chain (we have been getting these questions, so I am just pre-empting these questions in case others are reading this thread).

There's a detailed video describing TB3 as the IO and audio driver for the Dolby Atmos Renderer here:

I just got notification late yesterday, as they have been trickling into SWEETWATER SOUND and that I was about 3 away from getting one before the cutoff. I ordered mine July 6th so I was due. After speaker to them yesterday am, I got an email confirmation from late yesterday from Sweetwater, that they shipped mine out. It will be here it looks like Thursday 2Day FedEX shipping, which they are covering.

A nice pre-Bday present!

So I got the Thunderbolt card into the MTRX2. DADMan see's it but I don't see it anywhere else. Not in Mac Audio setup, not under in's and out's of the renderer and not in the playback engine of ProTools? Any idea why or what to do?
