MTRX Studio Mac Pro Not in Synch on Dante Network

I believe the fix was in Big Sur (it definitely wasn't in Catalina). Have 3 2019 MacPros running DVS/Dante/MTRX currently. I would not put an S6 on the same network as Dante.

Catalina would run DVS on an Apple dongle NIC adapter (not built in) but Dante Controller would often misread the Dante network and prevent configuration from the same system. We would use another computer running older macOS to configure the Dante network. (sometimes a laptop, sometimes a 5,1)
We did that for a long time until macOS was fixed and we upgraded those systems.

Right. The s6 has its own dedicated port. The internet, Mtrx are in the second port with a unmanaged switch.

Then the Dante port in the back of the Mtrx is running directly to the AM2.
I spent the entire afternoon doing a clean install of Big Sur. After reinstalling the entire system…Exact same issue.
DVS is just looking for clock and it doesn’t matter of I use a Apple certified Tb3 adapter or the built in port on the Mac Pro. Jiust piping my system audio through source nexus on a aux in protools for now.

What do you mean by this?
All ports are "Dante ports" on the MTRX/MTRX Studio. You assign in networking (from Device List > Network Settings in DADman) but the ports are actually, more or less, a small network switch. You set them for redundancy or fail-over (for how both ports are used.)

And sorry about the bad info, but the fix for the Mac Pro 2019 was in Monterey. I know this is a situation of "do you want to chance Monterey" (we dealt with the same thing)

When you are checking the status of the Dante network, what are you using to run Dante Controller?

Well yes but specifically "Net 2". The port that "Dante" is screen printed on the right of is running directly to the AM2. It had been a while since Id looked at the back of the MTRX. Ill try the NIC adapter you suggested. Thx for that

The Dante silkscreen (as BScout indicated) has nothing to do with a specific port. The unit is either in Switched or Redundant mode. If in Switched mode (which is what the vast majority of studio / post users use) the control aspects (communicating with DADman) + IP audio talks to both ethernet ports.

Finally got it working with the 2019 Mac Pro but, in order to do so, had to disable all other Ethernet ports and use the Apple Gigabit Ethernet (TB2) adapter with a TB2 to TB3 adapter. No luck with the builtin 10Gbe ports.

Switched. The NIC adapter Scout suggested did work and DVS is working again. Thanks for your help @Bscout
