Yes, the video ref can be derived from the Atomic Clock input. See here ->

Hey Jeff,

So if you're trying to use Sync X without HDX how do you even get ProTools to recognize the Synch unit? It seems as if even you're not using the HDX engine that you need HDX in order for the Synch X to be seen by protools.

Thanks Jeff but the firmware on the unit is v. 0.1.0.523. It needs to be updated. How do I do that without a serial connection?

And if used in standalone mode there is no control over the unit within ProTools I'm assuming?
