Default S6 causing protools pan window delay/lag

When I am connected to an S6, I am having an issue where the pan window in protools is very laggy, and it takes a while before I can select different pan parameters to change, and when I do, the resolution tends to be a bit choppy. If I try to change a parameter before the blue square appears (showing that parameter is up on the S6 master module channel strip), nothing will change, and it takes about 3-5 seconds for it to highlight, sometimes longer after changing parameters. I have a second mix machine and s6 this is happening with, too. Has anyone run into this before?

I am running PT 2023.9 on macOS 12.6.9, Eucon and S6 software 2023.11.0.121, but I have tried Eucon 2022.9.0.44 as well on an intel 12core 2019 Mac Pro, in satellite link with another mac pro in the same config.

Thanks!

Is this interaction specific to Pan, or can it happen with Sends, EQ, Dyn or general plug-in interactions? Are your attention preferences set to be keyed from Pan and other functions clicked in the DAW?

best,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

We discovered it seems to be a bug between Protools, (specifically running S6 or some Eucon enabled device), and simultaneously having Altiverb 8XL plugin windows open. The more Altiverb 8 plugin windows are open at a time, the worse it is. Once the plugin windows are closed, the problem goes away. It seems to mostly be affecting the pan window, I wasn't finding any other places affected, but it makes the pan window very difficult to use.

I'll take a look. Can I ask how many instantiations of Altiverb you have rolling in that session?

best,

Jeff
