Meter Layout not displaying

After saving and re-opening a protools session, the meters sometimes dont come back.
The bottom of the meter layout display page shows the meters correctly assigned though (see photo)
I can recall the meter layout, which makes no difference.
The only way Ive been able to bring it back is manually re-assign the meters on top of the existing.
What am I doing wrong?

Here are a few items to check:

Settings > System > Auto-Load > Layouts and Meters: should be ticked

Settings > Workstations > make sure your Pro Tools app has a Blue Star

What version of S6 and Pro Tools are you using currently?

Thanks Jeff - yes - those appear to be correct.
I just updated the service contract (2nd hand console)
S6 M40
2022.4.0.78

ALso - If I load a layout that has previously been saved locally and then recall it, the display goes blank, I get the little purple line top LH of the display, and then goes to the unassigned meter background again.

But this all only happens sometimes - i havent worked out the pattern.

Its not a major problem.. but it's weird!

I have seen this behavior with some legacy systems. I would recommend making a few new simple meter layouts, save only to the Pro Tools session and see if you have better predictability on getting them back. Please let us know.

Try storing a blank layout with four rows, recall it then recall the one with assignments.

Or restart WSControl, looks like it’s out of sync. As if the surface arrangement changed while connected.

The logs would be good so see.
