How do you configure your mixer,fx. eq's?track/mix

I have a session coming up that I want to do at96k and was wondering how you folks set up your mixer? I'm doing 6 songs for this band and I would like to have some sort of template put together to save time, maybe a 2 band eq on each channel some comps etc but this stuff all uses cpu power even in bypass right? I'm back to Protools as of 3 months ago after 4 years away from it so would appreciate any mixer setup techniques that you may have, thanks [img]images/icons/tongue.gif[/img]

I'm hoping to get a few ideas about how to do this.
How do most people do this? Track and then setup up a mixdown setup,ie, adding eq's comps? kind of time consuming [img]images/icons/confused.gif[/img]
