Default Any workaround way of automating the pitch knob in audio suite time shift?

You cant automate audio suite parameters for obvious reasons but I like the effect it makes on vocals when I'm auditioning in Timeshift and turning the pitch knob in real time. How would I record this since you cant actually automate it in audio suite? Maybe use time Pitch II plugin and automate the cents knob? Im assuming automating semi tones would be too big of an interval to compare it to turning the pitch knob in audio suite. I would just try but I'm not at home right now and I just had it on my mind.

set the output of the track to a Bus (lest say Bus R)
make a new audio track, make it's input Bus R
record arm the new track
select the clip on the old track
bring up the AS plug
go into Play/Record
adjust the AS plug
stop recording

Record an AudioSuite Plugin, that outputs to an Audition Path ???
Playback/recording in real time and adjust an AS plugin, where the "Preview Processing" button has not been pressed ?
Either playback/recording of the timeline OR pressing the "Preview" button of the AS plugin works.
I do not find a way to set an Audition Path to a bus, other than to an output.

I can only think of recording the Audition Path (the physical output of the interface) while adjusting parameters of an AS plugin into another recording device.
