You're being sarcastic, right? Maybe Avid should have hired a caveman to do their new site (reference to an American TV commercial for Geico insurance company).

One's primary hope on the Avid website is that you can succeed via the search. If that doesn't work and you need to navigate through menus, most likely your hunt will end in frustration. The Avid website is SO heavily weighted towards "search" that there should be a note at the top of the home page explaining that. I've never seen a website where navigating 75% will most likely end in failure.

Avid, please note that everyone here is using terms like "the worst ever" "by a damn site" "the worst site I have ever had to navigate" "epic failure" etc in these website threads. Avid forum people rarely go to these extremes. Thise site IS that bad. It truly is the worst corporate site by a mile (well, there's three.co.uk that painful as well.)

Also, like I said months ago, it belittles the "Pro Tools" brand. On Digidesign.com, PT was KING. Now PT is nothing, buried near the bottom and weighted equally to iNEWS, Oxygen and KeyStation. Makes you feel real good about the once "King of the Studio" Pro Tools. Now that you can't blame on the web designers.

How hard is it to find anything - ridiculous! And the search doesnt work properly either, 5 searches for basic things that i know darn well are in there somewhere all returned 0 results - i just dont have enough hours in the day to look through teenagers webdesign homework, sort it out please.

That's the worst part, they've geared the site towards 'searching' for what you want, but it just doesn't WORK. At best, the search returns a seemingly random, and completely unsorted list of things, they could be read mes, links to other pages, in the rare occasion you might get a hint in the search returns that lead you to the right place.

But for me, most of the time, the search didn't even return what I needed! Maybe one in five times it worked.

Of course, it's now been MONTHS with this new piece of crap site, at first Avid, or someone there, said they were working on it. But of course, like most things they're 'working on', like folders in the region list, I expect this too, will simply never come to pass.
