After reading the standalone drivers page, Make sure nothing else is using the 002r when you are selecting it in reaper, if any program is open using it, or any sound is being sent to it it will not work. (The ASIO driver only supports one application using it at a time)

I'm a little green when it comes to ReWire.. have only had limited experience with it using Reason into PT.

Thanks whorbos!
The advantage is that nothing edits like Pro Tools, I like the best of both worlds.

You need to find out about the drivers that run non PT stuff. Like iTunes etc, and what drivers you can download for asio things.
Hmm I don't have iTunes installed. Not sure what I could possibly be running that is using ASIO and preventing Reaper from displaying ASIO DigiDesign Driver in the drop down for Audio Device drivers..

On a side note, it's funny how no one knows PT like DUC.

I've removed ASIO4ALL but my main issue is that I can't even begin to use the ASIO optimizations you provided because the Digidesign ASIO Driver is not an option that I can select. Only option for ASIO is a generic "ASIO".. As Necjamc had mentioned, I'm wondering if something is "holding Digidesign ASIO Driver hostage" in another application.

Amen, old habits die hard! I love PT to edit as well. Although I have yet to try Reaper's editing. I would be willing to sacrifice the time to learn Reaper considering all the other advantages it has over PT though. If I could get it to work that is.. !!!

Just looked at the screen shot again and my mistake.. it looks like you do select the generic "ASIO" then in the following fields you can select Digidesign ASIO driver, but what I meant was, I can't get to the next fields because upon selecting "ASIO" it crashes instantly!

That is the driver "type". It's not a "generic" field.

What version of PT are you using?

The editing will need to be customized to your work flow. Time will definitely need to be spent, which can be a turn off for some. The PT editing is good, but it's age is showing and it's way behind the times in many areas now. The smallest changes can make it leaps and bounds ahead of everyone again, but that would take listening to their die hard users.

Let me correct the above. That would take listening to their die hard users and then delivering. This is something Cockos does quite well.

Double check your version number... 8.0.1 has only cs1. Are you perhaps on 8.0.0cs3
