Thanks guitardom..... got cha. I understood clearly from your 'readme!' to not run Trasher while Pro Tools was running and the version matching.
I didn't know those Thrasher keystrokes though, so thank you for that.

Chuck
The keystroke shortcuts are the only way it works. I put them in the readme. Was a lot quicker this way rather than creating clickable text and all the things that go along w it. I have a pretty large intense set of shortcuts I will send you if you get me your email address. There is a handful of reasons why I have not posted it up but some cool stuff in there for sure.

What am I doing wrong there? scratching my head.
"S" will trim the start of the region to the location of the mouse in the same region. Placing the cursor in the edit window is not needed, hence the "mouse over" or "under mouse" description.

An abandoned concept. PT cant do the slip style editing I was aiming to do with that script. REAPER is the only DAW I know that has taken slip editing to a whole new level.

I saw different things light up, but I'm a beginner so I don't kinow what they do. Sorry.
If keyboard focus is turned on:

  • P - Move Edit selection up
  • D - Fade to Start (available if no selection)
  • C - Copy

The keyboard focus commands can be found in PT under Help > Keyboard Shortcuts.

"P" and ";". See above.

Unfortunately, that type of script would have to be custom for one's own particular system. It was never fully developed.

Lost me on that one.

At least I will in a file on my desktop :)

Thanks again for the ability to use these wonderful utility keystroke mappings that you people have made. I am grateful.

Chuck
These probably need to be revisited and updated at some point. I've changed quite a bit down the line. My own are now embedded with Pro Tools. No need to have a separate shortcut key app running anymore.

Thanks, Shan!

1. What keystroke hides inactive?
Shift+Esc will toggle the mouse over commands on/off
==================
Well that gif is named SkunkWorksInactiveHide.gif
And I was asking about that keystroke, not on the keystrokes on how to
toggle mouse over on/off.

6. Separate, which brings up the amount window/dialogue.

Lost me on that one.

==================

Well, I was just listing the functions that were posted as animated gif's.
And the last one was titled 'separate'.
It's an animated gif of a few tracks broken up into pieces and in one piece
you would highlight an area and then a dialogue box would pop up asking for
input of 'pre-separate amount' and then it would go away presumably because you entered some value.

No big deal.

-----------
Thanks for the information on the 'S-T/S-G' keys, indeed I was hovering my mouse over the track selection and yes, it was cutting it, end to mouse position. Ok, now that explains it. And moving the mouse, yes, it works great. Duh. :) thanks, Shan.

===========

Well I probably will learn how to do that in the future also, because I'll
become so accustomed to having those in my workflow habits.
Where do we change keymapping? Must be a separate data file, not a selection like in Cubase 5 with Key Commands. I'm still too new to Pro Tools, grins.

Thanks Shan for all.

its done with another app (autohotkey) and then we have to create an exe file from there. MANY hours were spent with us learning this kind of generic coding language to build these.

Not everything in the first post has released scripts posted for them. For this one, right click a track name and select Hide and Make Inactive.

It sounds like you're running all these scripts at the same time, which they originally weren't developed to do. Because of this, the "s" key is conflicting with both scripts that you are running.

Pro Tools doesn't have user defined key commands. As guitardom mentioned above, these are separate programs running in the background that maintain the new key mappings and changes etc. It's a programming language with it's own syntax that would have to be learned if you want to venture off with creating your own.

You learnt everything here in the Skunk Works project thread from Rob on the helpline? I see. He broke down everything here hey. Right. Write us a script that will drop a Warp marker under the mouse with a key command and you'll be part of the club.

I'm all for promotion and marketing, but all your posts are going a wee bit too far in my opinion.

If anyone has the following scripts from the first post, then send them my way:
  • PT 8 Horizontal Scroll Fix 1.0 (Compatible with HD, LE & M-Powered on XP/Vista/Windows 7)
  • TRASHER version 3(Compatible with HD, LE & M-Powered on XP/Vista/Windows 7)
  • Mouse Over Editing - The Basics. (Compatible with HD, LE & M-Powered on XP/Vista/Windows 7)
The drop.io links are gone, so we'll have to host them elsewhere. I have so many versions of the scripts, that I havent got a clue which one's I made final and posted.

Thanks,

Shane

Hey man, I of course have the trasher and possibly the scroll fix. Will take a look.
