Haigbabe

Thanks again for taking the time to answer. I'm in Saga (you'll need a map for that one I guess), down on the south island of Kyushu and just south of Fukuoka. Nothing but paddy fields, mountains and inexpliccable traffic jams.

Anyway, I scived off work this afternoon and managed to put on order the parts not in stock for this:

XP2500+
A7V600
(Non ATI) Radeon 9000
Elixir or PSC PC2700 512MB RAM
IBM 120GB (MB drive
Lite On CDRW

I guess I'll be using the stock CPU cooler. Should be there to pick up on Saturday, same day as my PT6.1 arrives from Digidesign Japan. I can then spend the next 6 months staring at the boxes as I try to troubleshoot the system to get it to work

Thanks again

Jon Moxon

Greetings Jon.

Looks good.

Not compulsory, but maybe another hard drive one day too?

Ah, Saga, not too far from Nagasaki, and near Fukuoka where Paramount are building a theme park. Climate is not too bad either really is it?

Best regards!

Allen,

Well its a good thing I havent put my vendors on the DUC, cause there coming up empty handed!!!!!!!!
I ordered the mobo, the site said it was in stock, it took my credit card and said the order was approved, and nothing has happened!, no deliver notification, I called the store, left 2 voice mails, and sent 3 emails, no response!!!! I went to another site that supposedly had the A7V333 -X/L for $124, called the store, and its out of stock.
CRAP! I even called my credit card company, they said its in an approved status, but not purchased....
I going to keep looking but it looks like I may be going for the A7V8X-X or A7V600, which board do you prefer out of these 2, probably the A7V600...

I also may still have a shot at the A7V333, but that is a 266 FSB.....

So out of the 3 , which do you recommend?

I'm not done searching yet, but my shopping cart is not as full as I would like it to be!!!!

If I have success I will post my findings.....

JBird

PS will the AMD ATHLON XP 2500+ "Barton" 333 FSB work with the A7V8X-X or A7V600?

Hey JBird,

Look on page 89-90 of this thread and you'll see the trials and tribulations several of us went through with vendors, who were basically lying to the public about the availability of the a7V333x mobo. You might save yourself some time.........
I eventually went to the A7V600. I think that's the next mobo of choice.

Hey guys, I need some help once again.....

After I assembled my system everything looked fine. A couple of things I mentioned which I wanted to get under the usual specs. I wanted to get my IRQ's in place and I guess I messed up everything. I suspected a bug since I was getting periodic freezes. So....I did a XP fresh install, and went by the book to reassemble...but there are major problems. Now by trying to get it out the sharing my second hard drive is on slot 6 with the SIIG ATA card, and is still sharing IRQ with my video card. DIGI card on slot 3 but couldn't get mobo to assign IRQ 9. ( even though it is set and reserved for slot 3 irq 9. It is on 17.

I can record fine, and play back new sessions, but sometimes after I start the computer, and hit start, It freezes for a few seconds.

My big problem is that I'm getting 9073 errors a lot. I also noticed that 50% of my files, and the session data are written in blue letters. I checked the rest of the other files, and they are written in black... does that mean something????

All of the sessions that have files with blue color letters won't play back. There is only one session that has a couple of blue and black, which plays back.

The sessions that have the files written in black play back with no problems.
I tried moving some sessions to my C drive and the color changed, but won't play back.

I'm desperate......

Hi Progress88,

Thanks for sharing the news, I read thru the pages... I wiped a tear from my eye as I realized its gonna be the A7V600 (thanks recordingguy, I want the 400 FSB ). Thanks to Shan and Allen as well! I am going to try all the local shops for my final A7V333X quest before I settle on the A7V600. I want to read up on the A7V600 DaveC results on the prior pages as well... I beleive Shan posted his results somewhere.

Phew , what a $%^&* goose chase!!!!!!!!! Some Vendors Really !@#$% Suck!

Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky like Shan did, and find the "Pot O Gold" at the end of the mobo rainbow!!! Ya gottsa think positive!

I'l make sure to bring my Forked Stick, Rabbits Foot, Magnifing Glass, Crystal Ball, and a box o Slim Jims for the long journey! Ha!

Peace,

JBird

Hey jbird. Looks luck I can no longer find the A7V333-X. I'll have to start using the A7V600. Unfortunately when I purchased these for my clients I never bothered to get one for myself. I should be putting together an A7V600 w/ XP 3000 this weekend. I'll do a standard Davec test and post my results. Hopefully I can try this board with the 2500 also.
