Default help please!!....

i buy digi 003 + factory...,but everybody told to me that digi 003 + factory is worst than digi 003 factory (with out +) is that true?
they told to me that 003 + factory can't use a bypass pre amp,so how ever i use great pre amp the result is its still have quality sound with the 003+ factory quality preamp..
can i not use 003+factory pre-amp?
or are there bypass for 003+factory pre amp,so i can use my other preamp, and the quality sound not interupt by 003+Factory pre amp?
sory if my english is bad....,
thanks for the information....

Someone else can confirm this.. but im pretty sure that when you use Line in 1/4 inch inputs on all Digi 002, 002r, 003 and 003+ that it bypasses the preamp

Actually using line ins on the 00x does not totally bypass the preamps unless its the line in only channels... So getting the 003+ leaves u in a position to where u basically would be stuck w/all Digi pres & using line ins would sorta defeat a purpose of using another pre unless the pre isn't high end or mid grade anyway... U could of course get that & then grab an 8channel ADAT Converter to use for ur higher end pres(if u have some) & I guarantee u that will be the best opt anyway(even if u just get the 003 factory & not the +)

The "Aux In to 7-8" switch on the front panel will bypass the Digi mic pres on channels 7 & 8. The Aux inputs are +4 dBu balanced line inputs that work perfectly with outboard preamps.

My 2 cents only, but the ONLY reason to buy the 003r+ version is; if you absolutely MUST have 8 mic preamps and have it all fit in 2 spaces. Consider that the 003 preamps are basic, clean, useful but kind of bland, I would spend the saved money on more mic preamps with more desirable character.

And my 2 cents worth (using an 002 Rack, btw).
I NEVER have used on-board mic preamps on anything. Not on consoles OR Digi hardware. using a Joe Meek VC1Q, a Tl audio C-1, and a DBx 586 outboard pre's.
I just use all the line inputs on my rack and forgo the onboard pre's altogether.

Another vote for using all external high quality preamps.

And my 2 cents worth. I don't want ANY preamps at all on my Digi I/O box OR Control/24. They never get used and never will. Give us a 32 AES I/O PCI(e) solution that we can hardwire straight to our patchbays via Dsub connections. My 003 will probably be the last of my Digidesign I/O purchases unless they start waking up with the times.

Switch on the front panel. Does anyone read manuals anymore?
