no. one drive has your OS on it. You install all your programs to that drive. the other drive you will use to record to.

who is building this system? yes you can uninstall it off one of the drives, but if this person/company is building a system, i highly doubt they would be installing windows 7 to both drives.

Just to double check, don't install PT on your Audio Drive, just record your sessions to it...

And when you get your system up, right-click on MyComputer, select Manage, then Disk Management and look at the left most box for each drive. Your audio drive should show as NTFS and BASIC. If you see Dynamic, that drive will need to be reformatted as Pro Tools does not record to Dynamic drives. You might also open MyComputer and right0click on your recording drive and select properties and make sure that the drive is NOT checked off to use compression. Somewhere on the DUC, someone had a great list of system tweaks, so if you can find it, I would print it out for future reference
