Default Re: New redesigned C24

Oh my. The rumors come to a close and here we sit (LOOKING DOWN!) on a new C24?????

Looking down.. seriously. Slide your chair all the way up and Look Down... Kink in the neck. (Depending on what I'm doing I may be looking at my monitor or looking at the Control 24)
I liked the origional'looking forward' design.

Design? What design? It's a Command 8 or 003 on steroids..... More Command 8 by my look. That or the Mackie D8B (Digital 8 Bus). Hmmmm..... Freakin wierd.

I don't get it. If you're gonna redesign it, why don't you keep the origional footprint and height so we don't have to throw away our Multi-Thousand Dollar consoles?

I don't think Argosy has a trade in program like Digi.

I will give them credit for giving us $4,000 back on our Control 24, (Many of us are so friggin frustrated with em that it'd be a blessing to get $4K out of em) but I don't see the cause for the price..... Again, Like everyone else so far, I'd like to see new pre's (Sorry Focusrite.... Maybe you should have held yourself to a higher standard on the Control 24 project). I could go for some Manleys or Tridents personally.

Why not add joysticks for surround? Why not offer an Edit Pack and Fader Expansions?
WHY NOT ADD SOME FRIGGIN INSERT JACKS ON THE MIC PRE'S!!!!?!??!??!?!?!?!

OOOHHH, OOOHHH, and also- ADD EQ!! Onboard EQ, 3 or 4 Band Sweepable. Why not? You got pre's in there. A lil EQ and some insert jacks on top of that! I'D BE SOLD!!!!!!! Bring Analoug to Digital.

Seriously.

I think the mid-pro surface is going backwards in Digi's book.

All or nothing guys........

Mines been down for about 8 months...and I'm pretty much done with getting it repaired. What a P.O.S. But it sure looks "pretty" for the clients. I think Digi should take some responsibility for finishing and fixing the original Control/24 before abandoning it with something new.

So what does this mean for Control|24 users.....? No parts in the near future?

We don't have a Digi Certified repair center in Minnesota.... I think the nearest is in Chicago.

For those of us who are crafty, we can do the work ourselves, but what about parts?
Are they abandoning the supply?

Ditto-

Good Link, here's the direct link to the video:
http://www.sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=5383

I can't believe how he chuckles at the "......Famous Features Not Implemented Yet message......"
as well as the $10K Price Tag.

Unbelievable. Leavin us High and dry. No further programing to come for the Control|24 I suppose.

Also a pain to now have to type out Control|24 every time.... instead of C24.

Har har har

complete crap... if Digi is trying to drive away existing "customers" they're taking a great path

tell me the new C|24 has all the routing capabilities of an analog mixer, tell me all the buttons work, tell me I'm not [bleep]

I am soooo sorry I chose "the industry standard"... which I now feel, like the C|24, is a big pile. If I'm gonna drop another 6 - 10K, I'm moving to a completely different platform that's a little more user friendly and less god-damn proprietary

hey guys--first post. just wondering, has anyone tried the Mixed Logic M24? i did a search and didn't find any references to it. for $3000 it seems to beat other control options i've seen--assuming that it works. i particularly like the dedicated eq knobs up on the right hand side. obviously the little lcd panel isn't as nice as the "scribble strips" but it would get the job done. just reading some of the reactions to the C|24 it seems like this might be what a lot of you are looking for--namely "no preamps." really just curious if anyone has tried one.

F#CK..........I just bought a brand new Control 24 a month ago.Digi better support it for many more years or else! The new C24 look's like a plastic toy.........and at $10,000 digi truly has lost their marbles!

Hi,
When I was looking at controllers came across it. Seems well made and everything, BIG issue for me was that they don't have touch-sensitive faders. They call them touch-sensitive but they're not what most people understand that term to mean, they're motion sensitive. If that isn't a problem for you, go for it.

Pete
