Cocommit becomes Slooweer when Rewire plug in is active.
Hi guys, I found what was causing that commit and freeze become slower.
That's happening only when the rewire plug in (for ableton live) is active. BTW I discovered this because I have to use Ableton Live as a browser for my loops because workspace is broken. Anyway, hope avid could fix this problem, if this is a problem, maybe that's the nature of the rewire protocol, but its annoying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This is so sad!
When you made that post... What version of protools you were using? Thanks for this info Shan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Cocommit becomes Slooweer when Rewire plug in is active.
I made some tests:
On a Protools 12.5.2 session without the "Rewire" plug in active, commit a VI takes 32 seconds. In that same session with the Rewire Plug in active, commit takes 1:03 minutes! I like to produce with Protools with Ableton Live rewired, at first look 1:03 minutes doesn't feel like too much time, but making this process many times during the production process kills your workflow. Can't you use Ableton Live for your heavier MIDI based productions? My own audio toolbox has three DAWs in it for various production needs.

Cocommit becomes Slooweer when Rewire plug in is active.
I don't like the way Ableton deals with audio in general.
I mix while I'm producing, my protools rig is wired to a mothership feeding a 48ch SSL4000. I like to work on an hybrid enviorment and Protools is great on that. That is why Studio One is so appealing these days, my problem with Studio One is that its a processor hog. Its unfair that Avid can deliver what we need: A decent working browser (right now "workspace" its a joke). Sample accurate Freeze and Commit. Fix all the problems related with delay compensation and virtual instruments. Fix the delay compensation using beat -sync virtual instruments. I'm getting used to all these.
