I can tell you that i have seen 0 ill affects had the error message that DAE couldn't get audio from the drive fast enough (its a SATA Baracuda) and then the white noise thing after that. All in all same ol pro tools. time to defrag again. should take care of the white noise for a couple of weeks.

This is a huge RED FLAG here!!!

Are you saying you're getting the white noise bursts in 8.0.3cs2????

Your on cs2 in 8.0.3 correct?

browniespeaks, I see that you're still online. Hopefully you'll see this and be able to chime in. It's pretty important to find out what cs version you're on in 8.0.3. as cs2 was suppose to resolve the white noise bursts. Thanks.

I have yet to see this white noise issue and I am now running 8.03cs2, but I never could launch a session in 8.03 which I installed this morning :-( overtop of a 8.00 install...

Is there some scenario you need for this white noise issue to crop up? Like tracks in record or something?

best -

David
