Default Using more than 4gb RAM on vista/win7 32bit OS

I found an interesting link for a windows kernel patch that allows Windows Vista and Windows 7 32 bit OS to recognize more than 4GB of RAM. Being an LE user and having an i7 processor and 6GB of RAM on my board I have always been discouraged that windows sees only about 3GB of my RAM. This may be a workaround until Digi supports a 64 bit OS. I suspect this would offer a lot more power to an LE system and wanted to share my find with all of you nice folks here at the DUC!

http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/...an-4gb-memory/

Please note I have not tested this yet as I am running an XP setup right now (which does NOT work with this patch) and haven't had the time or nerve yet to mess with my working configuration. I just thought I would throw this out and see if any brave souls wanted to give it a shot and let us all know the results.

PS: I did search before starting this thread and didn't see this patch or article mentioned, so please accept my apologies if this has already been mentioned/tested.

No one has found this possibility useful or interesting??? I would really like to hear what you guys think about the possibilities of this working and how it could potentially add huge performance boosts to any LE system despite Digi's reluctance to release a 64 bit OS. Some one else who has viewed this thread please share your comments, good or bad as I'd love to hear them! This could be a huge step forward for anyone running LE on a 32 bit OS and would put us that much closer to equaling the power performance of an HD system.

Old news. In fact, we even contacted the developer and posted his replies right here on the forum. Cant find the link at the moment but the info's here somewhere(mykhal c, did we post that info in the i7 thread?).

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the i7 thread but last I checked I didn't see this info. Anyways, I'm guessing this didn't work then??
