Reporting problems with PT 11.2.1
I did a search for a way to report problems with the latest update to Avid.
My search in the forum lead me to a Crash Reporter but I'm not having crashes. My problem is that when I update from 11.1.3, I can no longer open a number of projects because of Access Violations and I have to roll back the update. Is there a "Problem Reporter" so that I can communicate with the PT developers and maybe send them a session that demonstrates this issue? No, I don't want to pay for support for an issue that was caused by an update fix. Thanks. |

Re: Reporting problems with PT 11.2.1
Bugs and issues can and should be logged here, but you wont have direct two-way communication.

Re: Reporting problems with PT 11.2.1
Out of curiosity did you try trashing your prefs & databases before rolling back?

What's the down side to that if it doesn't work? |

Re: Reporting problems with PT 11.2.1
Apart from losing some settings (which in most instances doesn't matter) there is no real downside to trashing prefs as they automatically get 'rebuilt' on next launch of PT.
Sometimes this solves a problem and other times it does't, but no harm in trying.

I just read this, haven't trashed prefs since pt 11 came out so I didn't know deleting databases was no longer necessary: "Note: It is not necessary to delete database files in Pro Tools 11 and later. Deleting preferences is still a recommended troubleshooting step, however the preference file locations changed as of Pro Tools 11. See below.
