I take pride in AutoTuning in such way very few people can say it's been processed. If in my opinion it cannot be done, the I won't do it.

I hate "the sound of AutoTune" or whatever you want to call that unnatural metallic-sounding perfectly-pitched nonsense that may sell millions in a week and be not heard again next month.

In that instance it was used to sound like a vocorder. And there's definitly a place for it in certain styles of music. (One being comedy) I don't understand why some country artists are going for that sound. Unless, of course, they're on the extreme pop side of country. But I've heard some pretty organic productions using it to that point of sounding like a vocorder and it just doesn't fit. It's a taste call and unfortunately only a few of us have it.

Another +1 AT hater here. My AT transparency secret is to never ever change the natural pitch curve of the singer. No matter what it "looks" like, there is a fundamental pitch to it. One just needs to nudge the word or syllable up or down until you "hear" the correct pitch. I see my fellow engineers just go overkill "drawing" pitch curves that no human can ever do.
