Fader Module issue on S6 Demo I bought
Hi All
I purchased an S6 16-5-D demo unit. (finally after years of kicking wheels) I had it switched on for a handfull of days and have an issue - thought it was finger related but cannot fix it.. It is the second of the modules - the first one behaves as it should - all the observations below relate to just the one module. 1) All the faders except 1 is down all the time - none follows automation in Pro Tools 2020.9 2) When I touch and move the first fader - it will reflect the db indication in the screen on the 8th fader 3) The second fader will reflect the db indication in its own screen - and this fader has moved sporadically with automation in PT. This fader will stay to where I moved it. But when I move fader 6 - the db is shown in fader two and fader 2 moves up and down like they are grouped and slamms back to minus inf when released (both fader 2 and 6) 4) When I move the third fader - then the db shows up with the fourth fader 5) When I move the fourth fader - the db shows up in fader 5's oled 6) When I move fader 7, the db shows up in fader 4's oled 7) When I move fader 8 - then fader 6's oled is active and this fader starts up at 0db and always jumps back there 8) the oleds do reflect the correct info from Pro Tools - just not its own faders info. These issues are evedint in a new Pro Tools session - NO Groups, No Audio, No automation - just 16 empty mono tracks. I have: 1) Reset to factory 2) Rebuild (Configured) the surface 3) Shut down, restarted tens of times 4) used another set of ethernet and power supply cables and ports 5) There are no errors on the info graph 6) I have re-installed firmware across the s6 (19.5.1.44) 7) Vegas mode - fader - sine only fader 2 runs up and down with metering and it's oled seems to mread correctlyfollowing it while all the other fader stay at -inf - but fader 6's meter is constantly ay 0db with oled flickering between 0 and 2944- no other meters. Oleds read 15 -xx -15-15 -0 -15 -flicker -15 -0 in fader order. Any help will be appreciated. I did buy (renewed) support but that and transfer of ownership will only go through by midweek next week. Is there anything I can do except have a drink? Thanks Stef

Re: Fader Module issue on S6 Demo I bought
Greetings,
It definitely sounds like a hardware issue from your description of the Vegas mode test under diagnostic mode. I would recommend opening up a support case. https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...-Case-Creation Jeff Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
