Default Spilling plug in controls to the knob modules

Hey there. I just got a new S6 and am learning how to use it. Other than the Avid Quick start tutorials, are there any other sources for learning the board?
The board I just got is an M10 with16 faders, 2 knob modules, one process module, the joystick module, and the MTM. The faders on the left have a process and knob module, the faders in the middle have the knob module and the Joysticks. On the right is the MTM.
Here is my question. With the fader section that has the process module, I can chose an insert and spill it onto the knob module in that section. How do I do that with the channels in the section that just has the knobs, but no process section? Also, is there a way to chose two plug ins and have them spill across both knob sections?
Or have one plug in, like the channel strip, spill across both knob sections?

Greetings,

Here's the latest version of the S6 Operation doc if you don't have it already:

In response to your question, I presume by describing spilling parameters you are accessing insert parameters in an expand zone on the knob modules. One strategy would be to define and Expand Zone on the knob module in the middle of your S6 configuration. You can designate the default view which is populated for the attentioned track - for example EQ. It is also possible to quickly swap out the parameters that are assigned to the Expand Zone. Check out the Expand Zone Prefs page in the above linked document. By touching any parameter type (EQ, DYN, Sends, Inserts, etc) for the Attentioned track while on the Home page you can touch into any of the Expand Zone knobs to populate them with the new view. You can configure the Expand Zone by accessing the Settings > Surface page.

Thank you for the info. One problem I am having is that when I go to Config from the Surface page, Expand is not there.

Are you running current S6 software? If you have Software v 2.0 or higher you should see Surface Expand L Spill R Spill on the bottom of the Master Touch Module after you choose Config from Settings. Once you press Expand it will let you allocate (by touching) a knob module for Expand on Attention.

I'm running 2.2. I get
Surface L.Spill R.Spill Joystick Cancel
Also, the image of the extra knob module has a triangle with a '1' in it. I can't find reference to what that symbol means in the manual, although I see pictures of it.

Great! Your knob module is already set up as the 1st Expand Zone which is what I suggested. Attention any track in your session and you should see EQ parameters show up there which is the default behavior unless you've changed it. You can then choose from the Home screen which parameters you want to send into that zone by simply touching a virtual knob on the Master Touch Module then touching one of the knobs on the designated knob module.
