Greetings,

The fan shouldn't be audible if the device is well ventilated. Is it sandwiched into a rack with other gear and are the spaces?

best,

Jeff

So.... Those of you with an MTRX studio, is yours actually nearly silent? I got one recently and the fan noise has been an issue for me. It's really not very loud, but I can definitely hear it as soon as the music stops or when I walk into the room. In fact, it's much more noticeable than my old omni, and there were a lot of complaints about those.

Avid support says it's normal, so I've listed it for sale since there's a good chance my expectations are just too high. But..... I wanted to see if anyone else has this issue just in case I should try to get this remedied. I really LOVE Dadman, and would love to make it work instead of taking a loss and selling so soon.
Mine is dead quiet in a rack.

How can you be sure? It looks like you have it right next to a pretty loud computer, power conditioner, and ups. I wouldn't be able to handle that computer being in my mix room. Actually, if that UPS hums at all, I'd probably kick it out too. haha

My room is REALLY quiet, so it could definitely be funcioning normally, but just too noisy for me. I expected absolute silence when I purchased it since there are no complaints about it anywhere, and it's designed to be right next to the user.

Anyone have it in their room right next to them without hearing it?

That you say it's much more noticeable than an Omni is strange. It's night and day quieter than a stock Omni.

Can't say I notice it in a floor rack. But I haven't had one "right next to me".

Mine is in a rack right beside me and it's completely silent.

Mine is right in front of me. It's completely silent. I do have vent panels above and below.
