What video specs for pt

Ive Got a mac book pro mid 2009, I am doing some audio post on a short movie, the video is an apple pro res proxy 1080, ma seems to be not fluid, which codec and container should I use.

An mp4 basic, no H264, works for me. PT hates H264 and will run poorly.....at least it does for me. I'll run any mp4 through Compressor ($50 App Store) and strip off any other codec that has been added. Works great. Run the video off of a separate drive.

DNxHD also works very well, though the files are pretty large. I've recently had a few problems with ProRes for some reason. Maybe convert your ProRes to DNxHD?
