Default Compaq scsi drive+G4?

Hello All,
Will a Compaq 10,000rpm internal 18gig ultra scsi 2 hard drive be compatable with my G4.I can get one for £150 second hand(from a reliable source).Any advice greatly appreciated.

Without knowing the exact model, I can't fathom a reason it wouldn't work. Compaq doesn't actually make hard drives. It is most likely a Seagate drive, with a Compaq sticker on it. I'm sure it'll work fine in your G4, assuming you have a SCSI card.

How would I connect the internal scsi drive to a scsi card with the scsi port at the back(external)of the computer,can you get scsi cards with the scsi connection intended for internal use?(i hope this makes sense)

All ATTO cards have HD68 internal connections (same as 68 pin drives). You will need a ribbon cable and terminator. If the drive is 50 pin, you will need a cable that converts to that (unless you buy the PSC card wich includes a 50 pin internal connector as well).
