Default Pro Tools Ram Ceiling of 1 GIG?

A recent call to tech Support at Spectrasonics,Tech said PT was limited to using only 1 GIG! Even if your loaded with 4-5 GIG. PT has a ceiling of 1 gig!! Any body else confirm or deny this.
