Re: Extra metronome pings
I've noticed in your audio recording on dropbox you mention "mixing board" what is that? Or do you just mean in the Pro Tools mix window UI?
You said you were hearing this noise from the PC audio before... what speakers was that heard on? Or did you use the same headphones connected to the PC? What do you change to hear it from one source of the other (just move the headphones? I.e. it's always following the headphones?) In the earlier audio recording you shared how did you make that audio recording? Does this extra noise ever make it teh audio recorded in a Pro Tools session? Long shot but this may be as silly as RF pickup. But that does seems inconsistent with other parts of this description. Make sure no electronics, cell phones, other computer etc. are near this setup. Do you have any drum machines, electronic metronomes, etc. anywhere near this? Make sure they are all turned off. What exact make/model Mic is connected? When you just unplug the mic and leave it unplugged... does that periodic sound go away? With nothing connected to the interface inputs turn the input gain all the way down on all the input... does that periodic sound go away? Do you have to have tracks record armed or in input monitoring mode to hear that noise? What make/model headphones? I'm confused as you seem to say that one reason you stopped using the metronome is this extra noise, but in other places you say this happens even without a click track. If you open a totally empty session, not from template, with nothing in it what is the minimum stuff you need to do to hear this extra noise? Describe everything you are doing. Could you post screenshots of each of the tabs in the Windows sound control panel. Last edited by Darryl Ramm; 04-21-2022 at 01:07 AM. |

Re: Extra metronome pings
Thank you everyone for you ideas on how to solve this issue. I have found a way to get this to stop. Under Setup --> Click/Countoff, set the output to "none". Problem solved.
