Seems Avid's gonna be phasing out the 192...this does not bode well.

I hope this is a silly question but when or if I upgrade to 11HD from 10+CPTK (for $599) will my 003 still work as a control surface, not only audio interface? I wouldn't be surprised if that would be the case - getting paranoid with that CPTK thing....

But wait, there's more! Not only is nst7 correct(what do we have for him, Johnny?) but its entirely possible, assuming you leave your PT10 installed, that when you connect your iLok with the 11HD asset, you will be able to open and run 10 in HD mode(which gives you everything from 10 with the CPTK). This should make the transition fairly painless as you can open/run sessions in either version.

So happy our faithful 003 console will still be supported!! Thanks a whole bunch!!!

Only thing is, it will limit us to only allow it's limited number of simultaneous i/o's.

That is until..., the great folks at Avid give us a firmware update for it, to keep using it as a console, in a system along side any Avid or non-Avid interface. I'd love that!!

Someday I'll upgrade the control surface, for the time being, I fing the 003 to do a pretty decent job at it!!

Cheers!

robrichard ... now that would make my day ... if Avid split out the audio interface and control surface elements of the 003 driver. I have a MOTU pci-e card with a 2408mk3 and a 24i/o that is my preferred interface, but I love using the control surface of the 003 (can't afford a C|24).

Unfortunately, as the 003 has been discontinued for some time, it's very unlikely they will do any more work on the driver.

That's a crying shame, but it is what it is. I for one am ecstatic that it is supported at PT11. Originally, it was stated that PT10 would be the last supported version for both 002 and 003. But no doubt it will be the 003's turn next.

I must agree that further development for the 003 is unlikely(i begged for a firmware update to give it a controller "personality" back when 9 hit). For me, as soon as cash allows, its HD/Native with an Artist Mix and Transport

Yeah I was VERY happy to hear my 003 is supported in 11. While I was waiting for 11 to finalize my upgrade plans its nice to have breathing room.
