Default The blinking stop button problem

Hi,

As many other have experienced, I'm dealing with the blinking stop button problem. When I hit the play button, both the play and stop button blink and I got no playback. But there's more. It only happen when my buffer size is at 1024. But when I go to a lower buffer size, I got tons of click and pops cause I'm using Komplete and it seems my cpu is having a hard time keeping up. So the solution would be to go to a higher buffer size, but there it is. The stop button problem. And yes it does that on all my sessions. A week earlier, everything was fine. Pretty damn annoying. Would appreciate your help!

Thanks!

Ben

Not sure exactly what's causing it, but it could be a plugin issue. What other plugins do you have running in the session? Does it happen if you deactivate Komplete or any of the other plugins? Try trashing preferences. You could also try adjusting the other buffer settings in the playback buffer screen. Have you performed all of the Windows 7 optimizations?

Did you accidentally hit the Wait for Midi note button? Its the little clock face at the left of the transport buttons. Beyond that, the Lenovo has a few issues to consider. Integrated graphics are often a show stopper for PT. Wifi should be disabled when running Pro Tools. One way to help rule out a plugin is to hold the SHIFT key while opening a session. That will make all plugins inactive so they SHOULD have no affect on Pro Tools at all. If things play fine that way, then its trial and error to find the offending plugin.

Ok so I tried pretty much everything you said :

Trashing preferences : Didn't worked
Wait for midi note : Not activated
Deactivating all plugin (holding shift) : Didn't worked
Tried all the buffer setting in the playback engine menu : Neither
I did not performed all of the Windows 7 optimizations but everything was
working fine before and I never did those so I guess it's not
the problem. Thanks though.

Any other advice?

Are you recording to the Seagate drive? Its 5400 rpm and too slow for recording.

No I'm not. And I'm not sure this is related to my problem. I have a playback issue, not a performance issue.

Playback issues are often performance issues...
