PlugIns Disappeared
Hello,
Just booted up PT11.2.1 this morning and 99% of my plugins are not there! They still exist in Library/Audio/PlugIns, but not in the PT interface. Only a few are there (Ableton, Reason etc), but all the Avid plugins and 3rd party plugins are missing. Any thoughts? It was all ok yesterday. Thanks, bb |

Re: PlugIns Disappeared
Has to be corrupted preferences. Time to trash 'em.
This app makes it easy to trash them and then back up the new ones once you've reset everything. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=340741

So the preferences in 11 are messed up, just go trash prefs for Pro a Tools 11 and report back.

On a Mac the path for PT11 plugins is: MacHD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/plugins |

Have you looked in the path I wrote to see if your plugins are there? They have to be in that specific location. Something that can screw up a PT install is what was installed first. Generally install PT10 and it's plugins first and then install PT11 and it's plugins. PT11 uses some of the things installed by PT10 I've found and installing PT11 first can cause issues. Fortunately reinstalling PT is easy. Except doing an uninstall of PT10 on Mavericks as the uninstaller doesn't work. You have to do that manually and that info can be found here by a forum search. |

Re: PlugIns Disappeared
Similar issue in ProTools 10 after installing on new computer.
I am having problems loading the virtual instruments Mini Grand and Boom. In both cases, I'm asked for a path. When I provide it, can load the instrument once. But next time I open the session -- or even after changing instruments in same track -- am asked same question again. In the case of Mini Grand, I have to quit ProTools before I can again load Mini Grand. Boom is more forgiving, lets me again indicate the path, then loads. Other Avid virtual instruments, including Xpand, load OK, but I am having activation issues with some Native Instruments plug-ins. MacBook Pro 10.9.4 Mavericks, 8 GB ram. ProTools 10.3 |
