Default 003 Mixer- Does anything come close yet?

Hi,

I've been looking at DAW controllers for the commercial studio I work at and I wanted to buy something that offers similar options to my Digi 003 mixer at my home studio.

Eg. USB/Firewire, faders, transport controls, plugin controls, automation modes etc

It seems the 003 is streets ahead of anything out there in the market. It's just so flexible and reliable, and bloody good!

Can anybody point me in the direction of something in the market that is maybe half as good as the 003 is?

Much appreciated

I've seen the Avid Artist Mixer and the other 2 controllers but they look like a disjointed mess, not to mention disgracefully overpriced due to the fact i'd have to spend 3 lots of money on stuff that my ONE digidesign mixer has.

You can pair it with a fader port for transport controls:

http://www.presonus.com/products/faderport

You can get both for about $18-1900

Wow thank you. Best option(s) i've seen by far. Shame about the transport controls on the QU-16. I see it has 4 soft keys do you think a few of the transport controls can be mapped here?

Good question... I have one but have yet to try to program the softkeys for anything but mute groups and scene recall.

Ok. It looks really good I think that's the option I might go for- with the PreSonus fader port as well.

Though do let me know if the A&H can map the basic transport controls!

Thank you for your help

Mackie control comes to mind as well, if you don't need an interface, but just a controller, but that A&H unit looks amazing.
