um... "Freakin Awesome" is a term used by Mac Addict for reviews.
As is typical of their poorly informed writing staff, they make the same misinformed and downright ludicrous suggestions to "consumers" about software that unfortunatly for joe and jane USA alos requires just a scad of actual savy about the area you dwelling into- be it audio, video or graphic design. Mac adict would have every person with a passing interest in a creative field imagining that with a bit of software, they'll be out applying for jobs in the field in a amtter of days. Really , really poor of them to do that. Actually iy shows how clueless the staff of that magazine is about the real world, and I would guess they are lucky to have jobs at that flunky newletter if at all.

Kama, man it sounds like you may not be too secure in your current position
Although, I have a job in the "legal industry" (15+ yrs), I find the Mbox to be a wonderful hobbie...however, there are many audio schools out there, not that you shouldn't sweat the new graduates.

I read both MacWorld & MacAddict regular. Don't sweat me for your job...

I get both. I do enjoy reading MacAddict more. I use to love getting the free CD when I had just a 6400 PPC with a 28.8 modem. I have learned so much about Mac because of those two magazines. I love Mac Design as well.

vf124: you have the Ti 800. I hate you . I stuck with a Ti 400 till after one of my acts get signed. I want a faster one for FCP.

Well than, you must hate me !!! Checkout the "Dream Machines", MacAddict, July 2002...the "Audio & Video" Mac...total cost, $100,842.89.

Now that's a FCP/Pro Tools rig ..., really makes the "Mobile Mac" unit look a bit out of place...

While we're at it, Apple execs have been sporting 1Ghz Tibooks - I think I am gonna wait just a little bit longer before upgrading the Ti 400...

And don't be down on the 400 too much - the 1st generation are still waaay better for audio than the 2nd gen 550/667's were.
