Maximum Session Length
Digi (or anyone else)
Why do we have a session length limit of 13 hours? When will ProTools support a 24 hour timeline? PT7? Just wondering? Ray |

Re: Maximum Session Length
I believe it is quite straightforward:
PT locates anything in your session counting samples from session start time. AFAIK it uses 'long integer', a 32-bit number. Maximum number is 2^32: 4294967296. At 48kHz and 16-bit (=2 bytes), divide by 96000: 44739.24. That's the highest adressable byte offset from start time in seconds. Divide by 3600 to get the hours: 12.43. This will vary with SR and bit depth. Cheers Florian |
