macOS Monterey 12.3 officially supported!
Hello! Not sure if I have missed this discussion, but I just noticed that on March 17, Monterey 12.3 is now officially supported on PT 2021.12, requiring only 2022.2 Avid plugin update. (See attached compatibility chart.) Has anyone tried this combination? Is it stable? I wish to update to Monterey 12.3 to take care of universal control. Thanks!

For example, UAD is not Monterey compatible yet.

Re: macOS Monterey 12.3 officially supported!
My UA OX is working fine under Monterey.
And in fact almost everything works fine, with the exception of a couple of Exponential Audio plugins (Excalibur, R4 & Nimbus), the older iterations of SSL Duende plugins (pre-V2 -- the ones that do not have "Native" in their title), and a couple of AIR instruments (Loom 1, Structure 2 and Transfuser 2). Everything else seems to be working. |

Re: macOS Monterey 12.3 officially supported!
Just loaded up a new Mac Studio Ultra, Monterey 12.3, with protools HDX, seems to be working well so far in my tests!

Re: macOS Monterey 12.3 officially supported!
I get mine mid April - 128 RAM/2TB HD. Maybe you should start a new discussion and keep us all up to date. I think there are a LOT of soon to be Mac Studio owners here. How much RAM are you using? I'm curious about your setup. Thanks!!!

Re: macOS Monterey 12.3 officially supported!
Some asked about Stratus and Symphony, and sadly no, they, along with R4 for me refused to work in 12.3. Pheonixverb Surround and R2 Surround work though. I hope they fix those soon, hard for me to work without those.
I just installed everything on a new Ultra, so far it's a great machine, but ProTools under Rosetta actually eat up MORE resources than my decade old Mac Pro 5.1. Comparing the Netflix demo session, my old machine runs it with less overall CPU percentage. Avid needs to be working on M1 support. From what I can tell they appear to be in zero hurry to do so. |
