Default DigiTS Slowdown in PT7 Help!

Hi, we are just in the process of upgrading our 6 HD2 suites to PT7. Just tested in one first (booting PT7 from an external FW drive, leving PT6.9 on the internal drive) and noticed a slight sluggishness in the respones of PT7. Nothing really bad but just a fraction of a second to a second slower response when recording or playing than in v6.9. Still my editors all find this sluggishness a bother to them. The sluggishness is really apparent in very dense sessions.

Also when we audition multiple takes (CMD + clicking a region) from the takes pop up. The correct take audio plays but the waveform is still that of the last take that was recorded. No redraw of the take being auditioned . . . is that a bug? Again not a major problem, but very annoying.

Here is what we used to test.

ProTools Version 7.2.1
G5 dual 1.8GHz, 1.25GB of RAM
Mac OS 10.4
Hardware is HD2 (non-Accel).

What do you think is wrong? Will it help if I . . .
a) Add more RAM say another 2GB.
b) Upgrade to Accel . . . that would increase DSP capacity but not sure if it would affect speed.

Unfortunately upgrading the computer is not an option for the moment as we have 6 rooms and this would be to costly as well as having to upgrade all our ProTools cards.

Thanks in advance and hoping for a fix. We really want to go to PT7 but want to work out the bugs before commiting to the upgrades.

BTW just to play safe my tech has booted PT 7 from an external FW drive keeping PT 6.9 on the internal drive. Wonder if this could be cause of the delay.

Solved the problem by adding more RAM
