Default Initial PT questions

Please forgive ignorance, I just don't get my head around some of this stuff- I don't know an upgrade from an installer, etc. I've just installed a new drive in my Mac Pro, got PT8 up and running. Relatively painless so far. Now the plugins.
I haven't looked at the digi page or my digi account for over a year when I switched from PC to Mac and figured out how to do all that, but now it's looking greek to me again.
1. Could someone walk me through what I need to do to update Strike.
2. Are there any other plugins I'm supposed to get with PT 8 I need to do anything about? I'm confused- for some reason I was thinking the factory bundle was automatically part, now I'm thinking that's not so. ? My digi account said I have 1 activation code available for Celedyne Essential- I don't know if that's from this purchase or leftover from my original purchase of 002r. I got a Celedyne disk but don't think I ever installed it. Not real worried about it- is it something worth having?

3. What do I do with the "additional files" on the installer disk, what are they?

4. What's the loops/sound disk like? Is it considered real good stuff by users of that kind of stuff (I don't typically, not real familiar with working with loops)

5. Next step is Waves. I've got Ren Max bundle. I'm assuming I'll go to that site, see if I can find some passwords, ilock info, and whatever else i need and I should be able to figure out the process? Any suggestions on carrying that out would be appreciated.

6. Finally- on lighter note. I just played around for a few minutes- noticed that on insrument tracks on preset templates such as DB33, after I recorded a take, it would record over (erase) first take when i record a second take. Not doing that from blank session I created myself. Any help on why it's doing that?

Thanks alot in advance for any help.

PS. DB33 makes me want to be a Hammond player. And put organ in every track I ever make from now on.
