Default midi notes are being truncated/muted at at random times

Hello,
i'm experiencing some really frustrating occurences with midi notes. Recording the midi notes is working fine. When playing back sessions, notes on the midi tracks are being cut at random times sonically. Notes that should have sustain are truncated...muted. Like i said this is happening randomly. I have tried several different virtual instruments from protools and 3rd parties( kontact 4). Audio tracks play back fine This just started happening about a week ago. I didn't have this problem up until a week ago. I'm using Protools le 8.04cs , MBox 2pro, and an Axiom 61 2nd generation midi controller. If anyone can please help me..i would really appreciate it!
