Default "Bounce Quicktime" option disappears !

Hello,
Just back from summer break
... "Bounce Quicktime" options (File Menu) only shows up (greyed but appears) when launching Pro tools. As soon as I load a session, whatever 48/96k own template or basic Avid presets (post production - getting started,etc...) the Bounce Quicktime dissappears.
Importing a video doesn't fix this...

Disappointing

Any idea before I trash my prefs...
Thanks
Raf

What version of PT? In newer versions, you go to "Bounce Mix" and set the file type to MOV.

Go to Bounce Mix and set the file type to MOV. Then you can (hopefully) choose between Same As Source and Transcode. I have found newer versions of Pro Tools to be much pickier about what files and codecs it will allow for Same As Source. So, I usually convert everything to Pro Res Proxy, bounce to that, then convert outside of PT. I use both FFWorks and Shutter Encoder. But I really like the droplets feature of FFWorks. I have a droplet set up to convert to ProRes Proxy and another droplet set up to encode the finished bounced ProRes files to H264/mp4. Drag and drop is really easy.

Thanks very much ! works great.
i am very surprised the way the "Bounce quicktime" option appears on startup but disappears as soon as you create or open a session
Anyway, the Bounce Mix way is pretty convenient
Cheers
Raf

Glad you got it working. Yeah, there have been a few things in the newer versions that take some getting used to, but overall I love a lot of the new features, especially the latest EuCon updates. I'm wondering if the legacy option disappearing, or appearing at all, is just a weird glitch.
