Am I missing Something here with a region lock?

Hey everybody. I have a major issue here! I'm working on a session doing some guitar and vocal edits right. I go to split a region into to separate regions. It splits fine but I can't move or nudge the regions anywhere on the timeline after I split it. When I try to select the region to move it, it no longer highlights either. I've been working in Pro Tools for over 7 years now and have never encountered this issue! I have only experienced this since my upgrade to 5 to Accel 7.4.1. Am I missing something completely? Is there a region lock somewhere I don't know about? I've searched the DUC and found no help in previous posts. PLEASE HELP!!! I'm going nuts!!! Thanks everybody.

It doesn't sound like a region lock. Is there a little lock on the bottom of your file? Does 'Apple+L' do anything? Did you try trashing prefs/databases etc? Is it happening to all of your files or just one file? All sessions or just 1 session?

Thanks Adam. No there is not a lock icon on the region. And no it happens only on a few regions and in different sessions. Not all of them. I'm about to pull my damn hair out...talk about being a major pain in the ass....! I will trash my prefs and see if that helps. Thanks for your help Adam, any other ideas?

Hi,

Trash prefs is always the first place to start! and delete the digi database files. use this app to help delete these pres....
