Waves plugins not supported after PT update
I've tried getting Waves' attention on this for days now but they are not responding. I'm hoping to have better luck here.
I updated PT recently and now I get an error message saying "The following plugins have been made inactive because they are not supported by the current sample rate," and it lists specifically all my Waves plugins. I use a 48k sample rate for everything and have never had a problem until I updated PT. I've tried reinstalling everything clean through Waves Central. I even manually dug up any Waves folders or files and deleted them to get a COMPLETE reinstall. I updated to V12 of the Waves plugins. I tried reinstalling PT. I still get this problem. Has anyone else had this problem? |

Re: Waves plugins not supported after PT update
Roll back to an earlier/working boot drive image i.e. before the Pro Tools update. Then, apply all Waves updates, and make another image backup. Next, uninstall Pro Tools, install new Pro Tools, make yet another image backup.

Re: Waves plugins not supported after PT update
Do you still have the same system as in your Public Profile: Windows 7 and 6 gb of RAM?
That won't work with PT 2021 and waves 12. Regardless, if you're still on Windows of whatever version, go to Control Panel>Sound and make sure your onboard soundcard is the default in both the Playback and Record Tabs, and disable anything else showing there. Your interface should only be for Pro Tools.

Re: Waves plugins not supported after PT update
Oh I've upgraded since then. I'm on Windows 10 with 32gb RAM i9 9900k Intel Processor and SSDs all around. I use my Axe FX 2 as an interface which is locked at 48k. I did try using my Focusrite at 44.1k but it still didnt do it.
EGS, I'm not sure I have a means of backing up image since I'm low on space. And I cant roll back because Windows says its been longer than 10 days from the last update. If I have to reinstall Windows because of JUST THIS then that's really stupid. |

Re: Waves plugins not supported after PT update
After you fix your issues and get it all working again, just create (and store) boot drive images:

Hmm, not sure what's going on for you guys, but I have no issues with a mix of Waves 10, 11 and 12 on Windows 10 here(very latest build of PT).

Re: Waves plugins not supported after PT update
Ok so I had to use the Reset Windows app to get things going again. After reinstalling everything I got my Waves plugins back. Ridiculous hoop to jump through.

Great to read you got it working! I had to clear Waves preferences in Windows: • Click the Windows key + ‘R’ and enter %appdata%, click Enter • Delete the Waves folder inside the 'Roaming' folder that appears For v9, 10 and 11 installs – see BenoniStudio’s: How to install Waves Legacy/v9 Plugins with Waves Central https://youtu.be/cPEkk83dg8M Waves V11 — Frequently Asked Questions | Support | Waves https://www.waves.com/support/waves-...sked-questions Can I run V9, V10 and V11 plugins on the same system? V9.92, V10 and V11 plugins can run on the same system, as long as you don't install two (or three) versions of the same plugin. Each plugin should be installed as either V9.92 or V10 or V11, but not more than one version. For example: Version 9.92 of the J37 Tape plugin and version 10 of the CLA-2A plugin can run on the same system. Version 9.92 of J37 and version 10 of J37 can't. Please note: • Software versions earlier than 9.92 cannot co-exist with software versions V10 or V11, if you wish to run V9 side by side with V10 or V11 – please install version 9.92 • For this reason, installing V11 alongside V9 may cause temporary loss of access to the V9 plugins on systems that do support both versions. We are aware of this issue and it can be repaired by reinstalling V9.92 plugins or contacting Tech Support.” Before updating to V11, check our System Requirements and Supported Hosts pages to make sure that your system and DAW are compatible with Waves V11. If the computer you are using is used by multiple users (for example in a commercial studio, school system, rental company, etc.), we highly recommend that you run Waves Central’s Version Organizer after moving licenses, to make sure your license version/s and the installed software version/s are aligned.
