Default Auto create regions

Howdy all.

Just doing some beat detective, and ive somehow swapped my prefs to automake regions. It slows my computer down to a crawl, and every minute or two, pro tools kindly asks me if i want to delete all auto-created regions not being used. which i then do delete.

I cant find how to change this option. Also, what is the benefit of having this option on?

Cheers
Dave

In the "Regions" list on the right hand side of the edit window, you should "Show" 'Auto-Created' regions. What's happening is that each time you make an edit, PT "Automatically" creates new regions for you, but you're choosing not to "Show" them. Let them be seen! Hopefully this will speed things back up for you.

Do you have "Separate Region" operates on all related takes checked in the Editing prefs? Try unchecking it. I had major swodding when that was checked.

Damn.. Its already unchecked...

Ill try uncheck 'auto-name separate regions'.

Ive only had this problem since 8.0.1 cs1..

Oh well..
