Default 3/4 outputs not available in MP9.

Guys, I just picked up the FastTrackC400 to replace my fasttrack usb. I'm running into a bit of an issue. From what I understand the headphone volume is correlated to the 1/2 outputs. I connected the 3/4 outputs from the FTC to my speakers so I can have a headphone mix and a mix to the speakers.

My problem is that Outputs 3/4 are not available to select in Pro Tools. When I look in the Hardware settings, 3 and 4 are in there. But when I try to send from a track, only 1/2 appear. Any ideas?

Have you been to Setup>IO>Output tab and hit the DEFAULT button? Or can you simply add the path for 3&4? Learning how(and why) to setup the IO can really make your life easier

Yessir. That helped. I'm learning how to use PT after spending years with Reaper, so there's a steep learning curve.

On a side note, is there a way to change the headphone routing to cover the 3/4 output rather than the 1/2 with the C400? This would make my life a whole lot easier too.

Not positive as I don't own that box, but I would consider a small headphone amp and feed it from the 3&4 outputs. Then, set up a stereo AUX send that feeds outputs 3&4. If you make the sends Pre-Fader, then you can create a completely independent headphone mix for the performer, and then the engineer can adjust the main mix or solo/mute stuff at will, and not distract the performer

Did you managed to setup output 3 and 4? I have the same problem. I don't know much about it. Can you tell me what steps you made to use outpur 3 and 4? I made it work on my windows xp and 7 but it's not working on mountain lion. Please advice. Thx!
