Hard drive slowing down?
I've been noticing lately my G4 hard drive sounding like its slowing down, then speeding up again. I also received an error message telling me that "The DAE couldnt perform the task", the disc speed could be too slow or needs to be defragmented". Im running scsi for audio and firewire for backup.
Has anyone encountered this, and am I hearing things???? What should I use to fix the problem? |

Re: Hard drive slowing down?
Try de-fragmenting your drives with Norton Speed Disk, or copy everything to another disc, re-format the drive, and copy back.
