Shuffle Mode, regions locked but Automation moves anyway, Why?
Any ideas on how to lock the automation with the region so it doesn't move in shuffle mode? I can't find a preference for this.
I've worked with two systems, one operating on OS 9.2 with PT 5.3.1 (HD) and one on OS 9.1 with PT 5.1.1 software (24Mix). I lock all but one of the regions in a track and then, while in shuffle mode, edit that one region. Placement wise, the regions behind the edited region don't move, but their automation does. How to prevent this? Thanks! Wayne |

Re: Shuffle Mode, regions locked but Automation moves anyway, Why?
I had a friend have this problem but when she tried to demonstrate it she couldn't get it to happen??? But it was obvious that it had happened, automation that fit the regions were out of sync with the regions they obviously were coneccted with. So I'm very interested in the answer, I'll be an "expert"

Re: Shuffle Mode, regions locked but Automation moves anyway, Why?
Wayne,
I was unable to reproduce this on 5.31 when seperating regions and deleting parts of the unlocked regions. The only way I could get the automation of the locked regions to move was to seperate the unlocked region and snapped the first half of the region to the end of the region before it. This caused the automation of the locked regions after it to move. Is this the same behavior your seeing? Regards, Mike |

Re: Shuffle Mode, regions locked but Automation moves anyway, Why?
This is very easy to reproduce, (currently running LE 5.2).
Lock two adjacent regions and draw some automation under the second one in the timeline. Unlock only the first one, select trimmer tool and shuffle mode. Trim the first region in then out again by a different amount. Now, look at the automation. It gets all screwed up and out of place. Every version of PT I've ever used has this bug. From TDM 5.0.x to LE 5.2.x The only safe way too use the trimmer tool in shuffle mode is to use it ONLY on the last region in the timeline since it only effects automation residing AFTER the edit area. dk

Re: Shuffle Mode, regions locked but Automation moves anyway, Why?
Hello,
This issue has been logged and will be looked at by engineering. Thank you for the information. To prevent the automation of locked regions from moving, I would suggest not editing in Shuffle mode if you have locked regions in the timeline that exist after the region you are editing.
