Mbox 2 Pro/Rosetta 200 - external clock problems

I recently switched from a Mbox 2 (usb) to a Mbox2 Pro (firewire)
my problem - using Mbox 2 Pro w/ Apogee Rosetta 200 as external clock

confirmed that the mbox 2 pro is working - when i set the clock source to "internal" - all systems go. I even see signal passing thru the Rosetta - so this means that the spdif I/O is working - right?
But when I try to set the clock source to "external" - i get the message
"no external clock source is detected. Please check the connections...."

I never had ANY trouble with my Mbox 2(usb)/Rosetta setup ...
but I can't get the PRO (firewire) to work??????

NEVERMIND - PROBLEM SOLVED
when they say check the connections - they mean it!!!!!!
one of my spdif cables had become unplugged
DUH!!!!!
all systems go
