Suddenly Slow
All of the sudden, my session file has become slow. Clicking in the scroll bar to scroll up results in a lag of about 2 seconds. Almost every procedure I'd like to do is now slow. Selecting tracks, selecting anything, all slow. Session does play fine, however. Other sessions are not slow. I've tried loading all tracks into a new file, but no improvement. Any suggestions?

Re: Suddenly Slow
Are going heavy on RTAS or processor
based functions? Even an open Absynth TDM plug can bog things down...

Re: Suddenly Slow
I had just optimized the disk a few days before. No RTAS plugs at all. An earlier (and almost identical version of the file) has no problems. I'm using a lot of aux tracks for live input, about 8 TDM plugs, that's about it. It started to happen after recording a MIDI track.

Re: Suddenly Slow
A MIDI feedback loop is a classic system slower downer. It can be occuring on channels that you're not monitoring. Watch your activity lights on your interface. Also, experiment with unplugging all the MIDI devices from your interface. If the problem disappears, reconnect devices one by one until the problem reappears.

Re: Suddenly Slow
Thanks everyone, I found the problem. Having the Movie track visible with it's track view set to frames causes every move I make take a lot longer. Setting the movie track view to BLOCKS or just making it invisible returns everything back to normal.
