Default Contest: Guitar Solo (For Fun Only)

The Offical "Bust out a Solo for "Destiny's Way" Contest page is up!

This is strictly for fun only. And no, I'm not trying to get a free guitar solo. I actually posted the "no solo" version of this song in the Hear your Latest stuff by mistake and I was about to upload the right one when this brain storm hit. I'd love to hear what happens!

I'm open to any suggestions or help on maybe tallying the votes.

Most Melodic
Most Creative
Most Outragous

Download the song and add your guitar solo to the last 8 bar verse (after second chorus)(2:29-2:55) of the song.
Upload or email it to me and I'll post them and we'll all listen then vote.

Here's the song link:

Anyway what do ya'll think?

84bpm

It's played to the click so it's pretty tight.

Can't wait to hear your stuff!

email big files to [email protected]

I may need to setup an FTP site to get these if the email doesn't cut it but please go ahead and email.

Thanks

I'm there ... do you want a mixed mp3, or do you want the track(s) so you can mix? Do we have a deadline for this??? Would hate to hold up the release date

A mixed mp3 would be best. Everyone who's going to submit will probably be engineering it on a 002/001/ or m-box so this will allow folks to put studio FX on the track as well.

I'm thinking January 11, 2004 (Sunday 12 midnight PST) this gives everyone about a month to download, create a solo, record, mix and upload.

How's that sound. Happy holidays to all. Most of all have fun.

Oops! I wrote something last night! I guess I'll have to let it sit for a day or two and revisit it later -- make sure that it still sits well with the tune. I'll have an mp3 to you by the weekend.

OK, I'll be the brave one who gets things started.

I'm curious to see how other folks will interpret this solo section. Keep 'em coming!
