Default Wavefile Syncronization

Hello,

My question is how to sync up two wave files. In my old DAW, I would line up the cursor on the leading edge of, say, a drum event, and then simply grab the second file and line it up to the cursor. This worked fine and the two files were always correctly in sync.

When I try this in PT however, (Slip Mode) clicking on the second file causes the cursor to disappear, so I no longer have that visual reference. My question is how to sync up files to each other in the editing window?

Thank You

Use "Spot" mode.

Hello, spk and thanks for the tip. After goofing around a bit, I found out that you can set sync points even in the slip mode. This way I can simply grab the wave and pull or push it into place without having to use the Spot menu - which I can't understand anyway.

insert your cursor at the beginning of the event you want to MOVE. hit ctrl+ COMMA. this will insert a sync point.
Now, place your cursor at the beginning of the event you want to sync it to.
I believe the hot key is WIN+SHIFT+CLICK on the region you want to MOVE (with the grabber tool) and it will snap the sync point to the cursor. (if not then it is alt+shift+click)

Or you could create a sync point on the other region and just zoom in and line it up visually.

Hope that helps, happy new year.
