Default Midi Prefs Missing

If Protools wasn't so expensive, and didn't sell itself as a premier Midi platform, I wouldn't find these kinds of omissions so, uhm...interesting. Where are these checkboxes (on and off switching)? Thanks

Reset on Stop
Send out MIDI reset messages, including note-off and controller resets, on stop.

Never Reset Chased Controllers
Never resets controllers to 0 when you stop playback or move to a new position in the project.

Chase Events
Chases event types for which one of the chase options is activated when you locate to a new position and start playback. This makes your MIDI instruments sound as intended when you locate to a new position and start playback. If Chase not limited to Part Boundaries is activated, MIDI controllers are also chased outside the part boundaries, and the chase is performed on the part under the cursor as well as on all the parts to the left of it. Deactivate this for very large projects, as it slows down processes like positioning and soloing.

For the second one, is it similar to the Insertion Follows Playback option?

Pro Tools has MIDI chase. Enabled by default always on instruments tracks, it can be turned off if working when using loops in a sampler if desired.

Samplers are a different subject/context. Is there an off switch for midi track chase? Where do you see that? Thanks

Doesn't seem to be related.

The larger point, which is amply confirmed by looking through midi threads here, is that there is not enough love applied to PT Midi from top to bottom. Tons of love for collaboration features though. It's an unfortunate choice.

"Reset controllers/notes on stop" option missing.

So basic.

When you click the upside down triangle on the track header, you can see that "Note Chasing" is enabled by default. There is also an option called "Pitched" which effects how particular MIDI and Instrument tracks respond to the "Key change" dialog. It should be turned off with samplers so you don't lose mapping when using the key change dialog. Note-chasing is usually desired except when it triggers a sequence of loop "incorrectly" which is why the manual specifies not to use it for that situation.
